An unusual tour of the best of Scandinavia, with an itinerary a little of the beaten track. Experience the magnificent beauty of the rugged Fjords and rainbow-hued Waterfalls. Or, it may happen, as you discover a wonderland of villages so charming that they look as if they came straight from the pages of children’s storybooks. Scandinavia offers you a world of romantic contrasts… from Viking culture to modern folklore entertainment such as Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The highlight is without doubt the three full days spent in the Norwegian Fjord Country and the sailings on the Geirangerfjord and Sognefjord.

Day1: Wednesday New York
Evening departure to Stockholm – The Swedish Capital, beautifully situated on the Baltic Coast.

Day 2: Thursday Stockholm
Morning, arrival to beautiful Stockholm. Your Tour Escort will welcome you at the Airport and take you for a panoramic orientation tour of the city often called “the Venice of the North”. See among other things the Royal Palace, the Royal theatre and Parliament buildings.
Overnight Stockholm.

Day 3: Friday Stockholm
This morning will be dedicated to a guided sightseeing of the amazing sites of Stockholm. We start with a walking tour of Gamla Stan – the Old Town, where the city began and the oldest buildings are located. Stroll through the cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways, and envision life at it was in the Middle Ages. See the Royal Palace premises and on the island of Djurgården see the 17th century frigate Wasa which sank in 1628, was surfaced in 1961, and displayed in a special museum. The highlight of the tour will be the visit of the magnificent Town Hall, considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings constructed in the 20th century, with its famous blue and golden halls in which the Noble Prize Banquets are held. Balance of the day at leisure for further discovering the treasures of this amazing town. You may wish (optional)to visit Carl Milles’ home, gardens and sculptures or Lidingö Island (optional).

After morning service and Shabbat lunch, enjoy a stroll in the area of the hotel.

DAY 5: Sunday Gripsholm, Karlstadt, Hamar
Leave Stockholm early in the morning for a journey through Sweden’s pastoral lake country to Norway. On the way we will visit Gripsholm Castle, regarded as one of Sweden’s finest historical monuments. The National collection of Portraits housed here, is the oldest Portrait collection in the world. We stop at the Water Tower of Örebro, named Svampen (The Mushroom), a popular destination as an outlook tower. Continue via Karlstadt on the shores of lake Varnen to Hamar in Norway.

DAY 6: Monday Lillehammer, Geiranger
A short drive will bring us to Lillehammer, site of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, where we visit the open-air museum of Maihaugen, a Collection of more than 100 rebuilt Norwegian buildings dating from the 18th century. From here drive up into the narrow, steepening Gudbrand Valley, then across the wide rocky terrain of Peer Gynt Country to Andalsnes, where we engage the famous dramatic Trollstigweg , winding through the mountains, to finally descend to the fjord. At Linge board the ferry for a short crossing to Eisdal and on to Geiranger , Norway’s most spectacular fjord for a ferry ride on the Geirangerfjord disembark at Hellesylt.

Day 7: Tuesday Briksdal Glacier, Stalheim
This morning begin a thrilling, memorable experience. Drive through Stryn and Loen, famed for its scenic setting on the Nordfjord which many believe to be Norway’s most beautiful Fjord, to Olden for an excursion to Briksdal Glacier there we take a hike or we can ride on a "Troll Car" (optional) past thundering waterfalls to the foot of the glacier with views of absolutely stunning scenery of the arm of the mighty Jostedalsbreen Glacier. Then Climb through the Utvik Mountains for spectacular views of the Fjord and eastern edge of the huge Jostedalsbreen Glacier. Descend eerie Vatedal Valley to bright and lovely Skei overlooking the beautiful Jølstravatnet Lake. On via Fjaerland to Sogndal and Kaupangen. Enjoy a two and a half hour cruise on the colorful Sognefjord and through towering Naeroyfjord, two of Norway’s most celebrated fjords. Disembark at Gudvangen and drive to the world renowned Stalheim, our overnight stop.

Day 8: Wednesday Bergen
Short morning drive through Voss, and then along the shore of Hardangerfjord where orchards abounds, to Bergen – “the Capital City of Fjord land”, built on the slopes of seven mountains which form an amphitheatre above Byfjord’s busy waters. The city sightseeing includes the picturesque wooden buildings and narrow, planked alleyways of medieval times which make up the old Hanseatic quarter of the Merchant’s Quay, and a drive through the quaint old quarters of the port and its garden suburbs. Visit Troldhaugen, home of the famous composer Edvard Grieg. Weather permitting, you can ascend one of the mountains for a great panorama of Bergen and the fjord below (optional).

Day 9: Thursday Bergen, Geilo
Morning at leisure in Bergen. You may see Torget, the famous fish market, and watch the century old scene of house-wives bargaining for the fresh catch. Or you may take a funicular ride to Floi Hill (optional) for its beautiful views. In the early afternoon we leave Bergen through Kvam Forest back on the Hardangerfjord road to Bruravik for a short crossing of Sørfjorden to Brimses and along Eidfjorden and Mabo Valley to the impressive Voringsfossen Waterfalles.

Day 10: Friday Geilo, Oslo
Early morning departure to Gol. Then, through Hallingdal Valley’s scenic landscape to Oslo, the Norwegian Capital. Balance of the day at leisure.
Evening Services followed by Shabbat dinner.

After morning Services and Shabbat lunch, enjoy a walking tour of local surroundings.

Day12: Sunday Oslo, Overnight Ferry
The morning sightseeing of Oslo includes the city’s highlights as the City Hall, the Kontiki Raft, Viking Ship Museum, and Frogner Park where the renowned sculptor Gustav Vigeland worked 40 years to create the Vigeland Sculpture Park which features 212 bronze and granite sculptures and then transfer to the pier for a late afternoon departure on your overnight cruise to Copenhagen.

Day 13: Monday Copenhagen, North Sealand, Tivoli,
Morning arrive in fun-loving Copenhagen. The sightseeing acquaints us with the city’s highlights. Have views of the Royal Palace of Amalienborg, residence of the royal family, the famous Little Mermaid besides the harbor, notorious old Nyhavn where sailors hang out, Christiansborg Palace. Drive north along the Danish Riviera, passing through picturesque villages and resorts. Estates and vacation homes are abundant. See Kronborg Castle at Helsingor, Hamlet’s Elsinore. Then continue to Hillerod for a visit of the magnificent Renaissance castle of Fredericksborg, now a beautifully furnished museum of Denmark’s national history. This evening stroll through colorfully illuminated world famous amusement park Tivoli Gardens.

Day14: Tuesday Copenhagen, New York
Transfer to the Airport for you flight home.
